Avid Editor Needed in Valley Forge, PA

Even though I teach Final Cut Pro at the local community college, I’m always glad to know that Avid, Premiere, and other NLE editors are still needed.
If you’re a talented audio/video editor with three to five years of solid experience, your opportunity is waiting at Vanguard, one of the world’s largest investment management companies. Bring us your solid experience with multimedia programs, the Avid Xpress Pro system, and Avid Media Composer, and you can create and edit video programs, streaming audio and video, podcasts and webcasts for external and internal clients.
You’ll log and digitize video footage, edit on Avid XPress Pro, design high quality graphics on PC and MAC, record and mix audio, and encode audio/video for DVD and streaming programs. For each project you’ll work closely with a producer and a production manager to schedule and track progress via an online calendar.
You’ll be expected to keep current on emerging and evolving technology by attending industry conferences and reading literature. Your recommendations for new tools will come from this knowledge. You’ll participate on the internal equipment team and leverage your strong relationships with external vendors. You should have the technical ability to troubleshoot the Avid system and to work comfortably with their technical support.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, television production, educational media, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Three to five years of editing experience on Avid Xpress Pro and/or equivalent experience with Avid Media Composer required.
- Excellent technical and troubleshooting knowledge of the Avid system.
- Hands-on experience creating graphics and effects (Boris, AfterEffects, Flash, Photoshop, etc.) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CD-ROM, DVD, and Web-related (compression, encoding, streaming) requirements.
- Ability to work with multiple layers and effects.
- Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and technical savvy.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Experience and knowledge to take responsibility for the edit suite equipment.
- Overtime to complete a project occasionally required.
