Feature Film Now Casting for Civil War Era Film

Hey everyone, the team here at Crimson Chain Productions is jumping in with both feet again and shooting another feature film this summer. We’ve had a lot of fun working on all the different commercials, short films, promotional films, documentaries, and other projects since Hunting Dragonflies, but we’re ready to strap on our boots and make another feature.
Flanking The Sentinel (current working title), is a Civil War based historical fiction. It will be a very fast paced production - the shooting schedule is still being mapped out, but shooting will most likely start towards the end of June and run through July, with a few makeup dates in late August and/or early September. We realize that most actors (and crew) have Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 jobs, so we are shooting on the weekends only - that’s Saturdays AND Sundays for an entire month (makeup shoots will also be on weekends). If you have never acted before, do not apply for this film. Sorry folks, although I can enjoy working with fresh talent on occasion, we just won’t have the time this round. Maybe on a later project, but this film is a tragedy, and would be too intense for most beginners. Also, the schedule will be very fast-paced, as well as the entire film takes place outside. So, thusly, we need professionals who can perform under pressure AND in the heat of summer. With that said, SAG and AFTRA actors probably should overlook this post as well. We’d love to have you, and we will be paying actors (as well as feeding them on set), but can not meet the SAG or AFTRA standards. You may be asking yourself, “I wonder how much they’re paying?” Let’s put it like this: If you’re worried about the money, it’s probably not enough for you!
We are looking for (reasonably local) male actors with a castable age of 20’s to 30’s to play the two main characters. The actors should be lean, but not necessarily “buff”. The roles will be tough to play (it’s a tragedy), so if you’re ready for an acting challenge, this is your chance! Indoor couch potatoes types will probably have a hard time, so moderate fitness and a lack of allergies will be your friend here. We will be in open fields, forests, and other various outdoor places.
We are also looking for extras and a few day-players (with speaking roles) to perform various roles in the film. All age/sex/race may apply, but please note that this film is meant to be a somewhat realistic representation of life in Maryland during the Civil War Era.
Note: If you are a Civil War reenactor with a uniform (and/or know someone who is), please apply!!! Convince your fellow reenactors to join you as well.
