News Video Producer Needed in Baltimore

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, Md (located on the Johns Hopkins University Campus) is seeking a News Video Producer for a full time gig, starting immediately.
“The News Video Producer is responsible for proposing, conceptualizing, developing, writing, videotaping and editing a variety of video productions in support of HST/JWST news activities and related outreach and educational activities for STScI. The producer has strong storytelling skills as well as a strong aesthetic sense to edit together a visually compelling and informative video product. The producer interfaces with NASA-TV to deliver news products, video files, video news releases and full-length productions in a timely manner. The producer proactively works to find multiple applications of video products for web-based initiatives, as well as educational applications. The producer seeks partnerships with various media outlets to style programming to their needs. The producer is able to multi-task on several products in parallel development.”

“Qualifications: Strong communication and writing skills, video shooting, experience in production of online, broadcast, cable, film or other mass entertainment medium. Understanding of technical requirements related to satellite transmission and digital streaming of video. Strong video editing skills that consistently yield an informative, inspirational and entertaining product. Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Avid, After Effects, Adobe Photo Shop, and similar tools. Video encoding experience required. Experienced in troubleshooting issues in video publishing systems/environments. Strong technical knowledge of video editing systems, SDTV and HDTV formats, Internet video formats.”
“Experience: At least five years of experience in all aspects of video production including at least three year of video experience to become proficient in the direction of media projects to include supervising the production, scheduling, contracting professional services, directing location shooting, sound recording, editing and various other related technical duties. Demonstrated technical skills in all elements of video production.”
