Blu-Ray High Definition Format Now Backed By Blockbuster
By Frey | June 19, 2007
Blockbuster has announced it will solely carry the Blu-Ray High Definition Format and not the HD-DVD format! This is big news, people. Really big news.
Why? The big question for the past few years has been whether to buy an HD-DVD player or a Blu-Ray player. Last year, they were released and people started buying them off the shelves - with a lot of people screaming one was better than the other.
Blockbuster has been offering both technologies more or less as a testing playground for a while now. But, apparently, they said that Blu-ray was rented much more than HD-DVD.
After their initial customer response, they have decided they don’t need to keep half of their stores filled with unrentable HD-DVD movies, so they will only go with Blu-ray…
What’s this mean for filmmakers? It means, go get a Blu-ray burner…
