Thinking About The iPhone? You Should Definitely Take A Look.
By Frey | July 29, 2007
Okay, here’s the deal. If you haven’t looked at the iPhone yet, go do so. Even if it’s just a look.
With a base price of $499, it’s definitely expensive, but with the gadgetry, it may be worth it for you. You can talk on the phone, text, email, visit websites, look at maps (and google earth), watch youtube, listen to podcasts, watch movies, and listen to your mp3 collection, and so much more - all from one device.
So why is it important to you, the video professional? For starters, film makers are putting their films and demo reels on their iPhones and are able to show them to clients whenever the need arises. You don’t need to carry around a laptop or portable DVD player (although most portable DVD players have bigger screens) anymore. If during the conversation, the client talks about a funny YouTube clip, you can easily find it on YouTube and discuss it with the client on the spot - all from your iPhone.
Even more importantly, if you’re going to be doing some documentary work in a Spanish speaking country, and want to learn some quick Spanish words for getting around, just load up the Spanish podcast lessons and absorb. You can bring your iPhone with you and it’s capable of working in over 168 countries. How can you argue with that?
I’m still under contract on my old phone, but the iPhone definitely has me thinking about getting one. It’s big screen is really nice, and it’s ease of use is also a boon. It sets up quickly, and you can setup a Yahoo, Google, or AOL Mail account among other things… What are you waiting for? Go check it out!
