Veneration Film Festival Taking Submissions

By Frey | September 12, 2007

The Veneration Film Festival 2007 Call for Entries is Open! We are accepting films for competition in three categories; Young Filmmaker (18 & under), Amateur, and Professional. Submissions must be received by the stated deadline in this year’s Call for Entries.

Veneration Film Festival in Newport News, VA is designed to do three things:

    * Build Community, because our deepest desire is to facilitate an environment where people who love the arts can develop relationships and feel a sense of belonging.
    * Promote the art of storytelling, because nothing is quite as captivating as a creative and masterfully communicated story.
    * Provide exposure and education for aspiring filmmakers, because the students of today are the prodigies of tomorrow.

The highlight of this annual festival is the Short Film Competition, in which filmmakers create films that are no longer than 30 minutes in length, and compete in three competition categories (Young Filmmakers (18 & under), Amateurs, and Professionals) for multiple awards, including Best of Festival, Audience Favorite, Best Narrative, Best Documentary, Best Cinematography, etc.

The festival also features discussion groups, feature film screenings, music, food, and more. Bring the whole family out. Admission is free!
