Short Film “In Heroic Fashion” Now Casting in Harrisburg, PA
Director Erick Fix of View From the Hill Productions is currently casting for the short film In Heroic Fashion in Harrisburg, PA. Duration of the shoot will be 5 days, starting November 23, 2007
Written and directed by Erick Fix, a senior film student from Messiah College, the film will be 20min long and will be shot on the new (August 07) RED ONE 4K video camera, the first video camera to rival film for resolution and quality (www.red.com). The budget will be $20,000 used for equipment rentals, food, art department, etc.
The film opens as a clever young man cons a stranger out of his breakfast through an intricate story made up on the spot. This smooth talker continues through his day ignoring the needs of others all around him. Suddenly a van drives up, abducts him, and forces the young man to put on a knock-off superhero costume, cape and all. This sends him tumbling into an elaborate heist, which he is forced to take part in. He escapes and is forced to rely on the stranger he had taken advantage of in the beginning. The young man is humbled as he watches the stranger heroically put his life on the line for him. Ironically he is the one wearing the superhero costume. The young man discovers the harmful nature of human selfishness, what it really means to be a hero, and the power of truly loving your neighbor.
This is a chance to be a part of a high quality student film that will be sent to the best festivals the nation has to offer. All actors’ expenses will be covered but will be unpaid due to the low budget nature of the project.
