Casting Call: Actor Auditions for TV Comedy Pilot in Baltimore

Casting Call (Actor Auditions): Richard Moore of Judah Productions in Baltimore sent in this Casting Call for Actors to Audition for a TV Comedy Pilot:

Television comedy pilot — Non-Union—

The PaperMill is a sitcom about a news team in Papermill, NY. They are a national news station but somehow only report the local news. They have grandiose idelogies about their stations’ reputation as one of the elite news teams in America. The only problem is, their the only ones who could possibly think that. They are bad of seasoned misfits who are in love with themselves, and would do anything for attention.

Studio shoots are in Fairfax, VA. Field shoots are in Baltimore. Auditions are held in Baltimore. Please email headshots/resumes to judahenterprise@yahoo.com. This will be a really good opportunity for great actors to be recognized and work with a great team.

Cast Breakdown:
Jimmy Dean (anchorman) – African Amer. or Caucasian. (45-55) Must be able to speak like a real news anchor, and have comedic timing. Jimmy is a seasoned veteran at the PaperMill news station and basically owns the place. He is very sarcastic and flirtatious with the female staff. Flirtatious not lude. He has great love for his job and his news team. Jimmy really believes his reporting has helped change the world.

Mimi Johnson (anchorwoman) – African Amer. or Caucasian ( 30’s – early 40’s) Must be able to speak like a news anchor, and have comedic timing. She is classy, poised, but must be able to show and edge. Oprah Winfrey or Martha Stewart’s tenacity and work ethic. Mimi hates her job and is always looking to move to bigger jobs like 20/20 or CNN. She doesn’t like her co-anchor Jimmy Dean but is willing to do anything to gain his approval.

Izzy (weather forecaster)– Any ethnicity (20’s). She is very intelligent but plays up on her beautiful looks. Acts flighty but is very calculated. She is having a secret fling with Mr. Wonderful. Must be able to speak like a real weather forecaster.

Bruce Ni (sports reporter)– Asian man (30-40) A sports reporter who never shows any footage of the games. Speaks with a strong Asian accent. Must be able to have fun with this character.

Felipe Guzman – Latino/Hispanic (20’s) Must be able to speak with a Spanish accent. He is tricked by Mr. Wonderful in a lottery contest. Must have comedic timing.

Female assistant – Any ethnicity (early 20’s) – Mimi’s assistant. Look’s up to Mimi and dreams of having her job.

Crew guy – Any ethnicity (20’s) Gives direction to Mimi.
