CINE presents “Brainstorm to Broadcast” at the Goethe Institut in DC

By Frey | November 7, 2008

Wendy Revel sent this in from CINE in Washington, DC:

How do you take a documentary from idea to completion? How do you get your film broadcast? What are television networks looking for?

Join CINE at the Goethe Institut in Washington, DC on November 20 at 6:00 pm as we present “Brainstorm to Broadcast” with industry insiders providing insight into these and other questions relevant to independent and student filmmakers. Featuring a screening of CINE Golden Eagle Award-winner “The Cole Conspiracy”, the evening will include a conversation with the principals involved in the film’s production and airing, as well as representatives of CINE.

The panel will feature Carl Lindahl, Executive Producer, History, and Executive Producer of The Cole Conspiracy, and Carsten Oblaender, Writer/Director/Producer of The Cole Conspiracy and Co-President of Story House Productions. CINE Board President Donald Thoms, Vice President of Talent Development for Discovery Communications and former head of production for Discovery Health Channel, will provide his perspective about how to pitch to various networks. CINE’s immediate past-president, Mat Tombers, founder and managing director of Intermat, a content development, consulting and sales company, will moderate.

There is no charge for this event, but space is limited, so please RSVP to brainstorm@cine.org by November 13.
