Casting Call: Actor Auditions for Film in Owings Mills

This casting call for actor auditions was sent in from gdimatteo in Owings Mills, MD:

The Brink of Suicide follows the story of a young college man named CLARK. The theme of the film is so serious that in the first scene, CLARK attempts suicide but the story will immediately flash back to what happened in his life before the suicide attempt.

After his girlfriend, CHRISTIE, leaves for study abroad for the semester, CLARK seems okay until he gets an e-mail from his girlfriend saying that they can’t be together. After many, many calls and e-mails, CLARK finally gets in touch with CHRISTIE and she tell him she finds someone else.

Being distraught over the situation causes CLARK to fall behind in his classes. This shows in a scene where a teacher, MR. BARNES, has a talk with CLARK.

All seems to get better when CLARK decides to try other things to not think about CHRISTIE, so he hangs out with his roommate and friend MATT. They do several actvities together, and CLARK seems about ready to move on with his life.

That was until NEAL, another roommate, tells CLARK that MATT gets killed in a car crash.

Feeling completely destroyed, CLARK goes into the scene at the beginning of the video where he is about to kill himself, but he stops himself and gets encouragement from MR. BARNES. The video ends with MR. BARNES and CLARK walking off together talking about life.

My shooting dates are this upcoming Wednesday the 22nd of April, and Saturday the 25th. Availability is one of my strongest factors in determining cast.

MR. BARNES is CLARK and NEAL’s History teacher. He notices CLARK’s poor performance, and is forced to lower CLARK’s grades. He is also the one to talk to CLARK after CLARK decides not to kill himself.

This is CLARK’s former girlfriend, who leaves at the start of the semester to study abroad. The relationship doesn’t last long after her departure, and this is the start of CLARK’s personal problems.

MATT is CLARK’s roommate. After he and CLARK talk about the problems he’s been having, they decide to have some fun together. The activities can include but are not limited to: they decide to play Call of Duty, play ping pong at the community center, play basketball, and go eat at the university’s dining hall.

NEAL is another roommate of CLARK. He notifies CLARK that the police wanted to talk to them about the death of MATT, and NEAL is the one that CLARK says suicidal thoughts to. It turns out that NEAL is the one who told MR. BARNES about CLARK’s possible suicide attempt.
