Welcome to the film & acting news blog for Maryland Films. We’re all about shooting film and video, so this site is dedicated to film makers across the globe, but we will tend to cater to Independent Film & Acting News for Maryland, DC, and the Surrounding Areas.
You’ll probably start to notice after awhile that we will discuss many of the beautiful aspects of the state of Maryland, as well as the surrounding areas including Delaware, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Virginia, & West Virginia. But, more importantly, our goal is to bring you the latest film making news for these areas.
As Maryland Film Makers ourselves, we know about many of the local problems and issues, including problems with the different city officials, weather, and even the geographical problems. This site is devoted to helping filmmakers get past the issues and create films that really matter. If you are interested in shooting in the Maryland area, send us a message and we can post it here for others to comment on.
Another thing we hope to bring you are “how-to†guides on different aspects of film making and acting, for those interested. And don’t worry - both novices and long-time film makers alike will be able to enjoy, as we will have both heavier in-depth discussions and good beginner reads.
Among the many topics and news stories we hope to bring you, one of our goals is to share interviews we have with filmmakers working in the Maryland area, including directors and DP’s, as well as other cast and crew (yep, even actors!). We have a cast and crew call sheet here, to help you in locating the people you need to make the film that you want.
