Triangles in Photography and Cinema

You may not know that you subconsciously notice triangles in pictures, but you do. Maybe it goes back to our hunter-gatherer days when we’d look into the trees for food, or to make sure there wasn’t a hungry leopard ready to pounce. As you’ll notice, branches extending from the tree make a “V”, and the added shape of a squirrel, a bird, or even a leopard would easily turn it into a triangle. Or maybe we’re programmed to notice triangles because of hills and valleys? At the bottom of most valleys lies water in the form of a stream, river, or lake. Since this was my first time using the T2i, I’ll share my thoughts: 1) The camera feels much less robust that the Canon 7D or 5D. It’s not that it feels flimsy, it just doesn’t feel as solid when compared to the others. 2) It’s much smaller than the others. It’s so much smaller that I was shocked to find out it was the Canon T2i and not some less expensive EOS. Not bad if you have to carry … Read entire article »
